our concepts

why we believe that rapid digitalization is necessary

and how we do it

digitalization

digitalization is a complex structure

there is no standard-understanding or roadmap related to digitalization

the perceptions of it differs between organizations and people

it consists of a specific combination of technology, management, culture - embedded in a specific strategy

it is systemic - focus only a single aspect and you will fail

transform

transformation shall bring you from non-digital to digital

successful transformation requires three things:
- understanding of need
- experience of success
- experience of value added

understand the need

digitalization impacts everybody

so everybody has to understand the need for change and transformation

appeals for change by c-levels will be heard as hidden agendas very likely
with the only goal of rationalization

only information from the outside world will lead employees to understand the need for transformation

they need to understand that the choice is to change or to fail

experience success

digital transformation means a transformation of behavior

change by digital transformation is big. therefore change of behavior is big as well

changing human behavior is hard. big change can not be done in one step

humans change behavior only experiencing the new behavior better than the old

a constant series of small success-experiences is much better than a single big one

experience value added

fast change needs the cooperation of people involved

people will cooperate more likely if they expect benefits for their own than for others

e.g. convenience is a strong beneficial experience for people

lots of people perceive mobile applications as very convenient

therefore digital should try to create benefits and value not only for the company but for the people involved as well (e.g. by providing mobile apps)

complexity

complexity = complicacy + dynamics

complex systems can not be reliably predicted

complex challenges need approaches as simple as possible

digitalization happens in very complex and highly dynamic environments

implications

todays demands need to be fulfilled very fast in order to remain competitive

we can not predict the demands of tomorrow - but we have to be prepared for them

your impression of time available for change may be false: "winter is coming"

you can not avoid fails - so fail fast, learn fast and improve even faster

digital solutions must withstand reality-checks not tests

involve users & employees. because:

"tell me and I forget; teach me and i may remember; involve me and i learn"
benjamin franklin

digital solutions should be planned to start simple & grow afterwards in terms of functionality & scaling

technology

microsoft azure is the actual and most likely future business-standard for digital solutions

it is a framework. bundling formerly isolated components of infrastructure to a digital power platform

you use office365? then you use azure already

azure integrates familiar office-tools into an easy to use infrastructure and empowers users to easily get access to innovative technologies like ai, speech services, image detection, ...

if your provider uses azure you get the chance to take over control of the solutions you buy

using azure infrastructure we can do "meta-coding". much faster than coding but almost as flexible
